| By the time we were in flight, the town of Roma was flooding extensively. Here, vehicles can be seen using a childcare center as a haven as the water over surrounding roads has become too deep even for 4WDs. Clutching only their most precious valuables, many residents were evacuated from their homes by boat to the more elevated, southern end of town.
